EPISODE THREE

THE STORM ON THE SEA

One day our travelers were very bored. They had a hard time finding something to do. "Maybe we can all play a game," suggested Lionel.

"Good idea," agreed Alexis. "Do you kids have any suggestions?"

"How about Spin the Bottle?" Ben suggested, puckering up to Stephanie.

"Please, I just ate," said Stephanie. "How about Girl Talk?"

"That'd be fine, except sixty percent of the players would guys," said Matthew, rolling his eyes. "Let's play Marco Polo."

"That game is a lot of fun, but you know what? The ocean is much too dangerous for that sort of thing," said Lionel.

"I know...we can play Chinese telephone!" said Alexis. "That's when you whisper something in one person's ear and they whisper what you said to the next person. We can say funny things if we want to."

That sounded good to the kids and to Lionel, so our travelers engaged in the fun game of Chinese telephone. Some of the funniest things were said, such as "Matthew can balance a stack of 100 Spaghetti-O's on the tip of his nose" and "A baboon has a smarter brain than a drunk driver". Everybody was cracking up by the end of the game.

But soon after the game ended, the gang heard thunder. A moment later lightning pierced the clouds in the sky. A large wind came over the ocean. The group became very frightened.

"A storm is coming up!" exclaimed Alexis.

"I have to stir the ship toward some kind of land!" Lionel cried, running up to the captain's seat.

"Stephanie, get this rope and give it to Lionel so that he can tie the boat to a dock we find," Alexis commanded. "The boys and I will make sure Lionel and I packed enough food. Be very careful of the wind, honey."

Stephanie agreed, took the rope, and ran up the steps toward Lionel. But just then another large gust of wind hit her, and she was knocked off the boat and into the churning sea, screaming. The tide began to carry her away from the ship.

Lionel had noticed her fall, and he went and told Alexis and the boys what had happened.

"We've got to save her!" Ben cried. "Quick! Where's a lifesaver?"

Lionel ran and got one, but when he got it outside the wind knocked it right out of his hand. Meanwhile, Stephanie was getting further and further away. She was almost a little speck.

Without thinking of the dangers of the turbulent sea, Ben jumped in. "Lord Jesus, please let me get to her in time," he prayed as he swam quickly. Finally he got close to her and saw her head going underneath the ocean. He dove under and grabbed her waist and swam back toward the ship. But Stephanie, being waterlogged, fainted on the way. Once back on the ship, Ben told them what happened.

"She's fainted!" cried Alexis.

"I hope she survives!" Matthew added.

"No problem," said Ben. "I know CPR." He leaned over and breathed into Stephanie's mouth while pushing on her chest. Just then Stephanie awakened, pulled Ben close, and kissed him!
